Junior Engineer (Storage system/Computer science)

The storage system group from the computer science department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center searches for two engineers willing to work on the implementation of a cloud storage infrastructure. Initially, the contract will be for one year, but an extension will be discussed before this first year is over.
Among the tasks the candidate is expected to perform we highlight:
Program file-system drivers in windows
Program cloud interfaces
Program unix-based services
Windows integration with unix-based services
Testing of the development in production environments
Secure programming
This work will be developed in the storage system research group at BSC and the objective is bringing a research idea developed at BSC to a production level, thus becoming a potential service at BSC.
We are searching for a candidate with following profile:
University degree on computer science (or related topic).
Basic knowledge in file systems and in operating systems in general
Experience in C and/or C++ programming
Knowledge of the English language to participate in discussions about technical topics
The following skills will also be evaluated (although are not compulsory)
Driver programming under Windows environments
Basic knowledge in data bases
Erlang
Programming of graphic user interfaces (GUI) under Windows
Candidates must submit:

Experience as analyst and programmer
Basic knowledge in file systems and in operating systems in general
Experience in C and/or C++ programming
Knowledge of the English language to participate in discussions about technical topics
The following skills will also be evaluated (although are not compulsory)
Driver programming under Windows environments
Basic knowledge in data bases
Erlang
Programming of graphic user interfaces (GUI) under Windows
Programming secure applications
Authentications and authorization mechanisms (PKI in particular)
Programming of distributed applications (Client/server, P2P, etc.)
Experience in leading small teams (1-3 people)
