Digital Agenda: Scoreboard shows progress

(31 May 2011) A Scoreboard has been published by the European Commission showing the performance of the EU and Member States in delivering on the agreed targets of the Digital Agenda for Europe after the first year of its existence. In line with its commitment to an open data strategy the European Commission has made its data sets and statistics in the Scoreboard publicly available online enabling anyone to carry out their own analysis and come to their own conclusions.

Digital Agenda: building a flourishing digital economy - Scoreboard outlines progress so far

(31 May 2011) The Digital Agenda Scoreboard gives essential data and in-depth analysis of progress so far with the implementation of the Digital Agenda for Europe (DAE). The Scoreboard is the first to be published by the European Commission showing the performance of the EU and Member States in delivering on the agreed targets after the first year of existence of the DAE. The DAE includes 101 specific actions (78 for the Commission, of which 31 were legal proposals, and 23 for Member States) which will together boost investment in, and use of, digital technologies. They are grouped under 7 headings, each representing a key area of Europe's digital economy. Overall, progress is good: 11 actions have been completed (two ahead of schedule), 6 actions due to be delivered last year are delayed, and the other 84 are largely on track.

Addressing demographic change: a socio-economic challenge and opportunity for Europe

The aim of this workshop, organised within the 'Digital Agenda Assembly', is to present progress in the pilot European Innovation Partnership on Active & Healthy Ageing and invite stakeholder feedback. Members of the Steering Group of this EIP will highlight its first areas of work. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to contribute their feedback, suggestions and experiences to the session, draw inspiration from others' experiences as well as find potential partners.

3rd Future Internet Usage Areas Workshop

28 June 2011 - 29 June 2011 Brussels, Belgium

This workshop aims to cultivate a common discussion between the stakeholders from all sectors using, and planning to use, the services and facilities of Future Internet (FI) to build an extended FI community and to foster a holistic cross sector approach to accelerating the Future Internet in Europe. It will enable a detailed discussion on the Usage Areas requirements and in particular how they can be part of the bigger picture of Future Internet evolution in Europe. A specific ambition will be to identify how additional usage areas may share and benefit from the approach of the FI-Public Private Partnership (PPP) while working under complementary programmes. Another ambition is to promote an ongoing discussion about the priorities and the activities in the community not directly involved in the PPP and how to organise this.

Future Network and Mobile Summit 2011

14 June 2011 - 17 June 2011 Warsaw, Poland

This conference will address all the challenges of building the Future Internet, which will be based on mobile, wireless and fixed broadband communications infrastructures. The Summit showcases European research in the field, in particular from the EU Future Networks projects, and positions it within the multiplicity of related initiatives supported in other regions of the world. The scientific programme is based on an open Call for Papers, with Research, Technical, Visionary or Techno-Economic Scenarios in focus. A Proposers' Networking Day will take place on Tuesday 14 June as a pre-conference event. The focus is on the upcoming FP7 and Celtic-Plus research funding opportunities relevant to the networks community.
