Commission approves record amount of state aid for the deployment of broadband networks in 2010

(20 January 2011) In keeping with the ambitious digital agenda goals set in the EU 2020, the European Commission has approved, under the EU guidelines for state aid to broadband, the use of over EUR 1.8 billion public funds for broadband development to support economic recovery, inclusive growth and the long term competitiveness of the EU. The public funds are aimed to ensure that all citizens have access to high speed Internet access in the European Union, including in rural or remote areas.

Information Day on the ICT-PSP Programme, Call 5 - Registration is open

An Information Day on the fifth Call for Proposals of the ICT Policy Support Programme will be held in Brussels, with presentation of themes and Objectives of Call 5.

eChallenges e2011 - Call for Papers

26 October 2011 - 28 October 2012 Florence, Italy

eChallenges e-2011 will focus on applied ICT research topics addressing major societal and economic challenges. The programme will combine strategic keynote presentations, technical and policy papers, case studies, workshops, an exhibition and social activities. The programme will showcase results from projects funded at national and regional level as well as those funded by European Commission Research Programmes. The goal of e-2011 is to stimulate rapid take-up of Research and Technology Development results by industry and in particular SMEs, and help open up the European Research Area (ERA) to the rest of the world. A Call for Papers has been published (deadlline : 28th February)
