ICT for Long Term Care. Deadline 16/06/2013

The Information Society (IS) Unit has a vacancy for a postdoctoral researcher to work in particular in the area of "ICT for Long term Care". This area focuses on investigating, from a technological, social, economic and policy perspectives, the current and potential use of technological solutions and innovations that support independent living of elderly people, that allow better organisation of the provision of care or increase the productivity and quality of long-term care delivery. It aims at providing input for the design of long term care strategies at Member States.

The successful candidate should demonstrate knowledge
and/or experience in social and/or economic research on
"ICT for Long term care". Some experience in evidencebased
policy research would be an asset. Knowledge of the
following would also be an advantage: quantitative and/or
qualitative methods, the economics of long term care,
evaluation and assessment methods, ICT impact analysis
and/or foresight.

The successful candidate should be able to make use of a
range of methods (literature review, data collection and
analysis, surveys, focus-groups, interviews, etc.) to develop policy support at European level, as well as to review and, write reports and articles, launch, coordinate and manage,research work, participate in research projects and,,scientific seminars/workshops and represent the IPTS at
international conferences.

Qualifications:
CAT. 30: The ideal candidate should have a Ph.D. or a
minimum of 5 years of research experience after the first
degree giving access to doctoral studies.
A very good level of written and spoken English is essential.
