Job Description
A three year, full-time position is available for a highly talented individual (f/m) to join our bioinformatics team at Biosfer Teslab, an in vitro diagnostic company based in Reus that develops novel NMR-based tests to improve cardiovascular risk assessment in patients at high cardio-metabolic risk. Biosfer Teslab arises from the research carried out at the Metabolomics Platform and the Lipids and Atherosclerosis Research Unit from the Rovira i Virgili University and is a spin-off company from the same university as well as from the Institut d'Investigació Sanitària Pere Virgili (IISPV). Biosfer Teslab has been founded by a young and enthusiastic team as well as by international opinion leaders with new ideas and perspectives aimed at developing better tools to improve cardiovascular risk prediction.

Key Responsibilities
The main task is to develop bioinformatics workflows and software for biomedical applications. The position will entail developing robust, efficient and fault tolerant software comprised of raw NMR data quality control, processing, analysis and reporting for a novel and proprietary NMR-based advanced lipoprotein test aimed at improving cardiovascular risk assessment. You have a passion for clean, organized and well-documented code combined with a desire to deliver on time and on target.

Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a PhD degree in computer science or bioinformatics and excellent computational skills including knowledge of programming languages and statistical frameworks (Python, MATLAB, R, etc). Candidates with prior exposure to NMR spectroscopy, biochemistry, and/or metabolic disorders are sought. Authored publications in a relevant field, ability to work in a team environment, effective verbal and written communication skills (in English) as well as effective presentation, organization and planning skills are a must.

Job conditions
Full-time contract for 3 years with flexible salary depending on experience.
