➢ The laboratory of Dr. Antoni Matilla Dueñas, Head of the Basic, Translational and Molcular Neurogenetics Research Unit in Neurosciences (BTNU: www.btnunit.org) at the Health Sciences Research Institute Germans Trias and Pujol (IGTP) in Badalona, Barcelona is searching Ph.D. candidates to apply for the NEW GRANTS AND RENEWALS FOR PREDOCS TRAINING DURING 2012-2013 DEPARTAMENT OF EDUCATION, UNIVERSITIES AND RESEARCH OF THE BASQUE GOVERNMENT. Note that the first condition to be fulfilled is the registration in some town/city of the Basque Country since at least 1st of January 2012, in the case of Type A applications and since 1st of January 2010 for the other types (check call summary for exceptions).

➢ The successful candidate will work on a few granted translational projects on the spinocerebellar ataxias: "identification and characterization of the new gene associated with spinocerebellar ataxia type 37 (SCA37); and "identification of biomarkers through transcriptomics and proteomics studies in the spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1)".
