The research groups of Solidification Processing and Micro- and Nanomechanics at IMDEA Materials Institute are offering a:

RESEARCH ASSISTANT (PhD candidate)
(MSc Degree in materials science/metallurgy)
(Ref: MICROMECH-PhD-01)

position on a research project in the area of Advanced Structural Materials. The selected candidate will work under the joined supervision of the group leaders on the microstructural, micro-, and nanomechanical characterization of Ni-based superalloys. The position is expected to lead to a PhD after three years.

Starting date: As soon as the position is filled.

Requirements: A master degree and fluent English (oral and written) is required. Applicants should have experience/working knowledge in the fields:
- microstructural characterization of Ni-based superalloys;
- experience with SEM and FIB is advantage
- nanomechanical testing is a plus

Conditions: Contract with full social security coverage.

Gross Salary: depending on candidate
