The Computational Imaging Lab of the Pompeu Fabra University is seeking to extend its management team with a Financial and Legal Manager and a Project Manager.

The specific responsibilities are:

Financial and Legal Manager :
• Driving all financial and legal issues of the Project to resolution.
• Answering all queries related to financial and legal matters of the Project, in particular but not only related to intellectual and industrial property right issues.
• Management and coordination of project participants' financial reports.
• Budget monitoring and control and organization of audit processes in coordination with University administration.
• Management and monitoring of timely and accurate payments.
• Ensuring compliances with the European Commissions financial controls and regulations.
• Control of the correct execution and compliance to the contract and coordination of eventual amendments to it.
• Creating and driving all project-related legal documentation to signature including contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
• General project management and coordination tasks within the PMO.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience:
• Ideally University Degree with focus on Accounting, Finance or Law or proven significant experience in these fields in Research and Development management.
• Budget controlling and analysis in large projects or companies.
• Demonstrated competence in the use of financial computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Ability to draft financial documents logically, clearly and concisely.
• Demonstrable ability to interact effectively with a wide range of institutions.
• A flexible attitude to role and responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and un-supervised.
• Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong project and process management skills.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
• Ability to set priorities, handle pressure and to work to tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Project Manager :

• Driving all project related administrative issues to resolution.
• Support the Project Manager and the Scientific Coordinator in all processes related to the execution of the project and the coordination of reports, meetings, communication and participants.
• Key position in the preparation of project deliverables and quality assurance.
• Follow-up and coordination of open action-items and support to the monitoring of risks.
• Contribution to presentation, dissemination and marketing activities related to the project and the Lab activities.
• Contribution to general management of the group and general coordination tasks.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience:
• University Degree and proven capacities and competences in complex project coordination or Research and Development management.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to plan and progress work, using own initiative and judgement.
• Excellent organisational and multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to set priorities, handle pressure and to work to tight deadlines.
• Ability to draft documents logically, clearly and concisely.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Informaci๓n complementaria de la oferta:
General information

Sector and environment:
University Research and Technological Development group in the field of techniques for artificial vision in the domains of surveillance, biometrics and medical image computing. In particular, the research is focused on quantitative vision. Activities are related with publicly funded Research and Technological Development for industry. The group was founded in 2001 and has now 19 international and multidisciplinary members.

Characteristics of the @neurIST project:
@neurIST will develop an IT infrastructure for the management and processing of heterogeneous data associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral aneurysm and subarachnoid haemorrhage. The four year Integrated Project co-financed by the European Commission's 6th Framework Program, started in January 2006, has 28 international participants and an overall budget of over 17 million Euro.

Career development and professional perspective:
The positions will contribute to creating long-term high-level Research and Innovation activities and provide excellent opportunities for developing the post holder's professional profile in a technological environment of highest innovation potential and strategic priority. Although incorporation will be limited to the @neurIST project in the first place, the post holder will be given the opportunity to develop his in research management in a wider time and responsibility scope.
