- Integrating Innovation and Investment: the Ambient Assisted Living Investment Forum 2010

This year, for the first time ever, the Ambient Assisted Living Forum (AAL Forum) 2010 will be preceded by an Investment Forum. Ambient Assisted Living products and services are ICT-based solutions, such as in-home monitoring devices or telemedicine systems, which help seniors remain independent, active and socially connected for a longer time. The AAL Investment Forum aims to stimulate more innovation and investment in AAL by bringing together innovative ICT enterprises in the Ageing Well market with potential public and private investors.

- 8th EuroAfrica-ICT Concertation Meeting

This event is organised by EuroAfrica-ICT, an EU funded project that aims to support policy dialogues and strengthen cooperation in ICT research between Europe and (sub-Saharan) Africa. An increasing number of regional, national and international initiatives addressing Euro-Africa Science and Technology cooperation in ICT have been developed over the last few years. In order to facilitate closer interaction and the development of synergies between the EuroAfrica-ICT initiative and these other related initiatives, at least 3 new EuroAfrica-ICT Concertation Meetings will be organised over the period 2010-2011 in Europe and in Africa.

- Digital Inclusion in e-Government

This seminar will introduce some of the new initiatives implemented by Valencian Public Administrations in their aim to achieve the objectives of social inclusion in e-Government services. The recently approved e-Government law will be presented by a representative of the Regional Ministry of Justice and Public Administration. Furthermore, some Valencian municipalities involved in e-Administration will participate in a round table debate about best practices and digital inclusion. This will also be the occasion to officially present DIEGO "Digital Inclusive e-Government", a project co-financed by the European Union, which offers e-Government services with accessible and user-friendly interfaces. This Conference is held within the framework of the conference series "Europe is Yours", of which the main objective is to bring Europe closer to its citizens.

The Future Network and Mobile Summit 2010 takes place in the Historical City of Florence on 16 - 18 June 2010. This is the nineteenth in a series of Annual Conferences supported by the European Commission, which regularly attracts over 600 delegates from industry and research to share experiences and research results, identify future trends, discuss business opportunities and identify opportunities for international research collaboration under the ICT Theme of Framework Programme 7 (FP7). It will thus contribute to showcasing European research in the field, and position it within the multiplicity of related initiatives supported in other regions of the world. In the context of convergence, the 19th Future Network and Mobile Summit will address the challenges of building the Future Internet, based on mobile, wireless and fixed broadband communications infrastructures.

The Ambient Assisted Living Forum (AAL Forum 2010) aims to provide a platform for all stakeholders - investors, researchers, policy makers, industry providers and end-users - to discuss smart solutions for improved quality of life in later years. Ambient Assisted Living Technology is a relatively new and vibrant field of investment, research and development. Policy makers are already exploring options and planning on future technology investments in this area. Several regional and national initiatives are emerging around Europe to support public and private investment. In support of this, the 2010 AAL Forum will now launch and host the first ever European 'AAL Investment Forum'. The objective of the one-day Investment Forum is to improve communication between investors and researchers and introduce investors to projects which require immediate and/or long term funding. The event will provide a matchmaking bazaar and tailored presentations for investors, software developers and other interested parties.
