ESS-Bilbao is searching for a specialist to serve as the technical expert on all aspects of the materials preparation, electron beam-welding and delivery of components for the construction of accelerator subsystems.
The main duties of such a post will focus onto serving as a interface with the EB shop to physicists and engineers on all aspects of sample preparation, fabricability and design of EB welding procedures. The successful candidate will also be in charge of troubleshooting the EB welding systems.

Qualifications

A technical degree in either Mechanical, Electrical or Materials Engineering or combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience managing a technical team in a research and/or manufacturing environment required.

Información complementaria de la oferta:
Desired: A background in the technical aspects of vacuum welding methods. Knowledge of the metallurgical aspects of metals joining methods (brazing, welding,
soldering) is highly desirable.
Knowledge of UHV systems and components including ion pumps, turbo-molecular pumps, ion gauges, residual gas analyzers, and helium mass spectrometer leak detectors is also desirable.
