Company description:
Omnia Molecular is a biotechnological company located at the Barcelona Science Park (Spain), which has developed a new strategy for discovery of active molecules with applications as anti-infectives. Our technology applies a completely novel approach to the selection of new anti-infective candidates. Our proprietary cellular assay simultaneously screens compounds for several parameters, leading to a fast and efficient detection of high quality hits. Our approach accelerates and improves the discovery of antibiotics and can be applied to any cellular pathogen.

Job description:
We offer the opportunity to work in an ambitious project in a company with a very dynamic team to a:
Research Scientist
He/She will be in charge of planning and executing of one or more of the screening assays that have been developed at Omnia Molecular; ensuring the high quality and throughput of the assay(s). Likewise, he/she will take care about the data analysis and storage using specific and validated software.
This person will be also responsible for the continuous improvement of the screening assay(s), and for the incorporation of these improvements into the company IP.
Moreover, he/she will be responsible for the coordination of one or more research collaborations, making the follow-up reports, ensuring the accomplishment of the deliverables and attending the annual meeting.
Finally, he/she will develop some project management tasks, such as organizing the laboratory logistics in order to guarantee all the laboratory daily tasks, and others.

Experience and prior knowledge required:

- PhD in Biomedicine (Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or similar). Mandatory.
- Experience in molecular and cell biology.
- Preclinical Drug Discovery (experience in anti-infectives field will be valued):
- Set-up and validation of screening assays
- Performing High-Throughput Screening campaigns
- Experience in writing reports for project evaluation.
