The AMIGA group is recruiting a Web Semantics Computer Scientist to work in the context of the Workflows for Ever Project (Wf4Ever). This is an offer for a contract of 2 years, starting as soon as possible and based at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía - CSIC, in Granada, Spain. The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of national and international researchers, and be a key member of the Workflows for Ever AMIGA working group. The main activities of the work are focused on research and development of interoperable workflow models for Astronomy taking into account several aspects as provenance, information quality, integrity and authenticity. e.g., development and analysis of scientific use cases of provenance; study and comparison of existing and emerging models for content aggregation; research to develop effective and efficient methods for evaluation of integrity and authenticity, provenance capture, storage, and querying. This work will take into ac
count vocabularies, ontologies and standards in the domain (IVOA), those developed in the Workflows for Ever Project as well as others existing approved standards. Interested candidates should send a CV to Jose Enrique Ruiz (jer@iaa.es)

Tasks
- Perform a complete study of the state of the art in semantics in the Astronomy domain
- Detailed characterization of standards and initiatives for semantics in the Virtual Observatory
- Identify overlapping between the Wf4Ever project and the Virtual Observatory
- Integrate models and semantics issued from Wf4Ever with VO standards
- Participate in the Virtual Observatory Semantics Working Group
- Develop missing vocabularies, ontologies, semantics in Astronomy
