The aim is to show decision makers of the European Commission, Member States, public sector entities, suppliers and service providers the long term sustainability of PEPPOL through specific initiatives. As part of the Large Scale Pilot projects (LSPs) of the European Commission, PEPPOL is building the basis for seamless cross-border eGovernment services in the single market, to realise the goals of the Digital Agenda for Europe. The LSPs were created under the Information and Communication Technologies Policy Support Programme (ICTPSP), a part of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) of the European Commission. The CIP ICTPSP aims at stimulating smart sustainable and inclusive growth by accelerating the wider uptake and best use of innovative digital technologies and content by citizens, governments and businesses. It provides EU funding to support the realisation of the Digital agenda for Europe. You can now register on-line! |
Research INTEGRATE promotes a novel IT-based approach aimed at enabling multidisciplinary collaboration in oncology research. This will be achieved through the creation of innovative biomedical infrastructures; emphasis on standards-based harmonization of efforts; the preservation, management and large-scale sharing of multi-level data; and the development of new methodologies and predictive multi-scale models in cancer. The INTEGRATE newsletters will describe aspects of the research problems in focus, inform readers about challenges encountered and progress made towards overcoming them, and refer to relevant project deliverables. We would like to engage our readers in discussions about data sharing and collaboration in the biomedical domain, as well as the scientific issues around information integration and interoperability. It's never been easier and cheaper to sew small electronic components into wearable clothing. In this issue of Futuris, we are diving into the world of smart textiles that help improve health and safety. |
