The SIPOMICS (SIgnal Processing for Omic ScienceS) research Group from the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona (Catalonia, Spain) is seeking candidates for applying for a FPU predoctoral grant. SIPOMICS is a multidisciplinary research Group formed by chemists, biochemists, computer and telecommunication engineers and it is part of the Metabolomics Platform.
The candidate will be involved in a multidisciplinary research project focus on environmental metabolomics and, specifically, on the detection of biomarkers of passive smoking exposure. The research will imply the development of analytical methods, based on GC-MS, GCxGC-TOF/MS, HPLC-MS/MS and MALDI-TOF/MS and data analysis using statistical tools.

Requirements:
- BsC on Chemistry or similar.
- MsC on analytical chemistry, chemometrics, bioinformatics or related fields.
- Excellent academic record (>7.5 for the degree and >8.25 for the master, call requirements).
- Clear motivation for research and the research field.

Candidates should send their CV to Dr. Serena Pujol (serena.pujol@urv.cat) no later than the 27th of January. A letter of research interests and intentions may be included in the application as well as recommendation letters from tutors or mentors, if available.
