EU and industry join forces to invest €22 billion in research and innovation

The European Commission, EU Member States and European industry will invest more than €22 billion over the next seven years in innovation for sectors that deliver high quality jobs.

Most of the investment will go to five public-private partnerships in innovative medicines, aeronautics, bio-based industries, fuel cells and hydrogen, and electronics. These research partnerships will boost the competitiveness of EU industry in sectors that already provide more than 4 million jobs.

Survey: Participants unanimously positive about eHealth matchmaking

An online survey on the EU-US Marketplace that took place in Dublin on 14 May 2013 as part of the eHealth Week, shows that 100% of the respondents agreed that their experience was positive and provided them with contacts and opportunities they would not have otherwise made.

Over 70 healthcare professionals and technology experts came together on the 22nd and 23rd of June for the Dublin Health Hack: a 24 hour marathon to create an app which improves healthcare. The winner created a solution providing games to support children with Cystic Fibrosis to do their exercises.
