The Geomatics Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Researcher position in its Remote Sensing Department. The candidate should have proven work experience in the areas of geomatics and remote sensing. The applicant is expected to have a strong background in radar remote sensing, including at least one of the following aspects: (i) algorithm development and implementation; (ii) satellite Synthetic Aperture Radar interferometry; (iii) ground-based Synthetic Aperture Radar interferometry; (iv) development of thematic applications based on Synthetic Aperture Radar imagery. The applicant is expected to be motivated and team player and to carry out innovative research. The candidate is expected to contribute to the main research areas of the two Departments of the Geomatics Division. The applicant is expected to have project management leadership and to carry out competitive project proposal preparation.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants for this position must hold a Ph.D. degree in geomatics or related disciplines (engineering, physics, geophysics, mathematics, computer science, etc.) and must have a postdoc experience. Applicants are expected to have track record and capacity of carrying out experimental work and interact with researchers as well as technology transfer staff. They are expected to be very motivated, work independently while, at the same time, cooperating with the Geomatics' team. Applicants are expected to have capability in attracting funds, including experience in writing research proposals, participating in national and international R&D projects and managing research projects. Advanced programming skills are considered an asset. Full professional proficiency in English is required. Catalan and Spanish will be appreciated.

CONDITIONS

The position is permanent. The salary will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
