PhD position available in encapsulation of food ingredients: New approaches to produce emulsions and microcapsules for food applications using structured systems (Reference 2017MFP-COFUND-19)
PhD position available in New methodology to produce starters with nutritional applications (Reference 2017MFP-COFUND-24)
Applications are invited for a PhD position in the Food Innovation and Engineering (FoodIE) group at Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain). FoodIE group has been studying the application of membrane processes in the food industry for more than 15 years. The group has experience in the use of microscopic techniques (optical and electronic) for the characterization of membranes and membrane processes, the use of membrane contactors for the concentration of food solutions, and more recently, it has employed membrane emulsification to encapsulate aromas and bioactive compounds. Permanent members of the group are Drs. de Lamo, Ferrando and Güell. At the moment there are three ongoing Ph D projects and the group has wide experience hosting national and international PhD students.
Projects:
The scholarship is offered in the framework of the Martí i Franqués COFUND Fellowship Programme (MFP) of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain). The Martí i Franquès COFUND Fellowships Programme (MFP) is a redesign of the existing MF programme, offering 25 doctoral contracts at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV). The programme is uniquely shaped to offer the best training stemming from the "triple i" principles of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions: international, interdisciplinary and intersectorial.
