Download "European Health Insurance Card" app for your smartphone | #EHIC #epSOS @epsosproject

With your European Health Insurance Card you can access state-provided healthcare if you fall ill or have an accident during your stay abroad. Show your card to a doctor or at the hospital and you will receive the necessary treatment under the same conditions as people insured in that country. As well, if you need a refill of your medication while abroad check the ePrescription services offered by epSOS. With the core groups establishing themselves, the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) on Active and Healthy Ageing is entering a new phase. The action plans for the numerous EIP actions will be due in October. The ultimate goal is to accelerate on the path towards large scale deployment.

In times of fiscal austerity, healthcare IT can help to keep costs in check while at the same time maintain or indeed increase quality of care. But this will only come true if eHealth projects are closely aligned to strategic health policy goals.

Making Business Easier: Consultation Meeting on SPOCS Final Reports

In the context of "final reports", SPOCS is planning to consult Member States that are not participating in the SPOCS project, as well as industry stakeholders and standardization bodies, on the results of the project; in particular, to get views on whether others can see a use for them in future. Participants will be able to: - Get a preview of the final reports. - Discuss what the SPOCS solutions could deliver for them. - Collect ideas regarding sustainability and standardization. - Build strong relationships with those Member States/partners that will be part of the new pilot A project (as called for in the CIP ICT PSP WP 2012).
