Dry Room Facility Manager

CIC Energigune is a new energy research centre based in the Basque Country of Spain. CIC Energigune is seeking an experienced Engineer to engage in the development and maintenance of its Dry Room Facility, including a versatile Battery Pilot Line infrastructure that needs to be designed and commissioned.

a) Dry Room characteristics

Dew Point (ºC) of -60 ºC and ISO 7 clean room class level
Design Temperature (ºC) 22 +/- 0,5 C with capacity to manage a minor variation. Significant addition of alarm set to activate with deviation greater than 2 C + will - be incorporated in a display room humidity and temperature.
Nº. researchers working simultaneously within the dry room: 5 people working day of 8 hours + a thermal load of 20 - 25 kWh.

Job Function

Project manager of installation, commissioning and qualification of the battery pilot line facility (coater, roll press, slitting machine...), coordinating with contract labor, and foreign vendors for Li ion, Li air, Na ion, Li S among others cell production.

Be responsible for:

Supporting the researchers in the definition of the main equipment to be installed in the dry room.
Pilot line continuous development in cooperation with the researchers aiming to adapt it to the requirements determined by the different research lines.
Dry Room safe and efficient operation:
- Powder processing and raw material chemical synthesis.
- Coating and mixing production operations of cathode and anode electrode materials.
- For the supervision of the staff in the Dry Room and for the training of the users at the technician, graduate student or postdoctoral level.

What we need

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Technician capable of taking this unique opportunity with:

Ms in Engineering, or equivalent
Knowledge of processes related to the coating industry, preferably with experience in the battery world.
Experience in managing this kind of lab scale facilities will be valuable.
With good background in HSE and BMS system monitoring
Ability to analyze and solve problems associated with research requirements.
Self-motivated with willingness to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
Applicants should be fluent in English. Knowledge of Spanish and/or Basque will be considered useful but not compulsory.
