BIOMEMS a group of R & D in the sector of miniaturized Bio-systems to (Micro- Nano) devices able to meet new challenges in the field of both microbiological and biomedical diagnostics and monitoring showing high scientific value industrial added.
Our mission is to provide industrial/commercial solutions based on new technology development and manufacturing miniaturized biodevices/tools for detection, identification, quantification, and control of molecules, cells and tissues and other biological components of diverse nature (biomedical, food and environmental health sector).
Within this context, the BIOMEMS launches this Call for the recruitment of promising candidates for PhD Student positions who want to develop their thesis at HEALTH & DIAGNOSTIC area, covering the following:


1. Position Description.

BIOMEMS-TECNIO is offering the opportunity to complete Research PhD projects in the field of HEALTH & DIAGNOSTIC area at our facilities. The offer is proposed for students registered for a PhD program at university in related subjects: micro - nanotechnologies, chemistry, bioengineering, chemical engineering, applied physics, etc.

Currents projects where BIOMEMs is involved: microbial sensors for pathogen monitoring, wearable sensors for non-invasive biomedical monitoring, lab-on-a-chip for infection diseases, Point-of-care multichannel for cardiovascular diseases, veterinary POC, food safety microTAS, etc.

2. Conditions.

Students will be encouraged to apply for financial grants in the frame of existing pre-doc programs with our support and experience (and our projects).

Fellow and financial support for short research stays in Spain and abroad.

Candidates will be selected in accord with their merits that should be appropriately outlined in their CV. Competitive academic record with average grade above 2.5 (scale 0-4) or 8.5 (scale 0-10) is required.

Selection will be done by a Scientific Committee composed by staff scientist of the BioMEMs advisory board.
