We invite applications for a temporary (max. 5 years) full-time position as:

1) Researcher for electron spin resonance dating (REF: RPE 06/2015): This contract will have the purpose of developing the high capacity and potential of the new X-band and Q-band Electron Spin Resonance spectrometer (ELEXSYS E500) through the development of a research project on ESR dating technique. This project, which is to be presented by the applicant, will be of a duration of 5 years. Likewise, the successful candidate should request and obtain funding for the research through calls for project funding, contracts, etc..., and should support and collaborate in the provision of consultancy and services to (internal and external) users of the ESR laboratory (sample preparation, laboratory work, etc...).
2) Researcher in biomechanics and human evolution (REF: BIOMEC 07/2015): This contract will have as its purpose the development of a research project on the biomechanical properties of bones in human evolution. The applicant will have to be competent in osteology and anthropology, histology, biomechanical models, morphometry and digital analysis techniques, with particular emphasis on the evolution of hominids.
3) Researcher for spatial analysis applied to Lower and Middle Paleolithic sites (REF: ARQUE 04/2015):This contract will have as its purpose the development of a research project on human occupation in Africa and in the Iberian Peninsula, with a global overview. It will take into account the analysis of the functionality of the sites and their implantation in the environment. The project will evaluate the present state of knowledge in the Peninsula in a broad and meaningful framework, demonstrating a capability to understand and to analyze the actual keys of the investigation in a global context. This project, which will have to be presented by the applicant, will be of a duration of 5 years, thereby guaranteeing the scientific and strategic objective of maintaining the leading position of CENIEH in this scientific area. Likewise, the successful candidate should request and obtain funding for the research through calls for project funding, contracts, etc..., and should suppor
t and collaborate in the provision of consultancy and services to (internal and external) users of the Infrastructure, in their area of research.

4) Researcher for taphonomic analysis Paleolithic sites (REF: TAF:052015): This contract will have as its purpose the development of a research project on taphonomy applied to the study of Paleolithic sites situated in caves and at open air sites in Africa and in the Iberian Peninsula, in all types of sedimentary environments. The project will include methodology applied to the analysis of the integrity and the functional significance of the archeo-paleontological records, with express reference to the processes and agents in their formation and burial and experimental and referential control criteria.
