The Communication Systems Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a research position in its Statistical Inference for Communications and Positioning Department.
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering or related disciplines, should have proven work experience in the area of wireless communications systems. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in digital communications and information theory with emphasis on the following specialization areas of interest: link adaptation, coding and decoding, network coding, multiple access schemes, factor graphs and belief propagation algorithms, as well as being knowledgeable in 5G systems new developments. Knowledge in digital communication receivers, synchronization, signal processing and networking aspects for LTE is an added value. The applicant is expected to carry out innovative research, effective project management leadership and competitive project proposal preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants for Research Associate positions must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields; be capable of conduct independent research and be highly motivated to work in a collaborative environment; have track record and capacity of attracting competitive funds and interact with researchers as well as technology transfer staff. Research and industrial work experience, participation in international and national R&D projects is all highly appreciated.

The position is permanent. The salary will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
