IMDEA Materials Institute is looking for a Research Assistant (PhD student)to work in the research group of High Performance Polymer Nanocomposites in IMDEA Materials (http://www.materials.imdea.org/groups/hppn/ )within the framework of a research project.

The project aims at investigating High Performance Fire Retardant Polymer Composites and Nanocomposites by designing the polymer formulations, flame retardants, and functionalizing the nanomaterials. The comprehensive bench-scaled fire tests will be used to study the fire behaviors of these composites. Well understanding and expertise on polymer blending and compounding is one of the crucial issues in this project. The selection of the appropriate analytical technique to study the mechanisms of flame retarancy and reinforcement is also a critical part of this research.

Información complementaria de la oferta:
Requirements: Candidates (less than 30 year old) should hold MSc degree in Polymer Materials, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering (or related discipline), with excellent academic credentials. Experience in polymer blending and processing, flame retardant materials will be valued. Fluent English (oral and written) is mandatory.

Conditions: Full time contract including social security coverage. In total: 3 years, but will be evaluated for each year before renewing the contract.
