POSTDOCTORAL POSITION OFFER (NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF PARAPLEGICS; SPAIN)
Offer one Postdoctoral position to join in the multidisciplinary European Project NEURIMP, addressed to develop a novel prosthesis for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries (www. neurimp.eu). A detailed description of the offer is available at www.neuralrepairhnp.es.
Successful candidates should hold a PhD degree in the field of Neuroscience, preferably obtained in the last 4 years. Proficiency in the field of PNS Repair and full competence in English are requested. Candidates must have a dynamic attitude and team work abilities. In brief, the specific skills required are:
1. In vivo: Experience in animal models of PNS injury and repair. Implantation of autografts and neural prostheses. Sensory and Motor functional tests. Skills on electrophysiology will be also positively rated.
2. Histology: Candidates must have a background on PNS histology. The project requires expertise on mouse and/or rat nervous tissue processing, immunofluorescence, histochemistry and stereology/morphometry. Knowledge on the Stereologer and Neurolucida systems will be highly valuable.
3. Molecular and Cell Biology: Candidates must have a background on the molecular mechanisms underlying neural cell death/survival and neuroinflammation. The project requires experience on mRNA and protein processing and quantification. Expertise on culture of neural cells and FACS will be also appreciated.
4. Other: Additional experience on CNS damage animal models, preferably Spinal Cord injury, will be also positively rated.

The position is offered for up to 24 months with a gross salary of 2216 Є per month.
