We are looking for a candidate to apply for an AGAUR predoctoral grant (Generalitat de Catalunya). The thesis of the PhD student would be associated to the Research Project FIS PI12/01861: "Metastatic colon cancer models for the study of tumor relapse" The development of resistance to treatment is one of the main challenges in cancer research. The aim of this project is to identify the mechanisms of resitance associated with tumor relapse and to identify candidate genes in Colorectal Cancer. The most important techniques that will be performed in this project are RNA/protein extraction, RT-PCR, Microarrays, Western Blot, flow cytometry, cell sorting and in vivo experimentation.

Period of the grant: 3 years.
Salary (before taxes): 14400 Euro first year; 15600 Euro 2nd and 3rd years.

Requirements for the candidates:
- Degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy or similar with Master studies finished in the period 1 Jan 2012 to 30 Sep 2014.
- Academic expedient ≥ 2,5.
- Fluent English, previous experience in research laboratories and high motivation for biomedical research will be appreciated.
