eChallenges e-2010 Conference and Exhibition - call for abstract closes 26/02/2010

This is the twentieth in a series of Annual Conferences supported by the European Commission, which regularly attracts over 650 delegates from leading commercial, government and research organisations around the world to share knowledge and experience, lessons learnt and good practice. eChallenges e-2010 will focus on Applied ICT research topics addressing major societal and economic challenges. The programme will combine strategic keynote presentations, technical and policy papers, case studies, workshops, an exhibition and social activities. The programme will showcase results from projects funded at national and regional level as well as those funded by European Commission Research Programmes.

ICT 2010: Call for proposals to exhibit cutting edge research and innovation projects

(15 February 2010)The European Commission today published the Call for Proposals for exhibits at ICT2010 on 27-29 September 2010. The Commission is looking for ideas in the area of upstream ICT innovation as well as close-to-market projects. We invite any organisation involved in European research and development as well as deployment projects and associated support activities to submit an idea for an exhibit. The call is open to all sorts of actors in ICT research: universities, research institutes, non-profit organisations, public authorities and commercial companies including small and medium sized enterprises. Closing date: 30 March 2010.

European e-Skills Week highlights the growing demand for skilled ICT users and professionals to drive a competitive and innovative Europe. This campaign seeks to inform students, young professionals and SMEs about the vast range of opportunities that ICT-related jobs present. The event is expected to involve 300,000 participants in more than 100 activities. Public authorities, ICT companies, education institutions and students will engage in hundreds of activities, training events, competitions and much more. The events will take place across Europe with more than 20 participating countries.

EDDP 2010 - Early Disease Detection and Prevention

This year's EDDP conference will focus on health policy and on cardiovascular (cardiac disease and hypertension), metabolic (diabetes) and renal diseases. As early disease detection and prevention are the most promising avenues to effective healthcare, this EDDP conference is expected to draw hundreds of participants from around the globe, including medical practitioners, scientists, investigators, opinion leaders, formulators of health policies and health managers.

Telemedicine and Legal Aspects workshop

2 March 2010 Brussels, Belgium

The workshop will address the legal and logistics dimensions in Telemedicine practice. Subjects to be covered include legal liability of practicioners, patient data privacy and protection, as well as financial and logistics subjects, such as reimbursement of services. A telemedicine use case will be presented to the participants. The workshop should facilitate the dissemination of good practice initiatives, knowledge and experiences on the field, with the aim to accelerate the uptake of Telemedicine solutions and to improve both policy-making and research. Personalised technology conference

Technology is increasingly being used to deliver services. However, it is also increasingly becoming the individual's right to choose how they are supported and whether or which technology should be used. This then becomes personalised technology that encompasses all technology platforms including high and low tech devices. The aim of the conference is to explore how personalised technology can enhance quality of life during a period of increasing economic pressure. The conference, focusing on case studies, will explore the wider context from ethics, individual rights, policy initiatives and practice.

eHealth week 2010 - Barcelona

15 March 2010 - 18 March 2010 Barcelona, Spain

For the first time, the Ministerial High Level Conference on eHealth and the World Health IT (WoHIT) Conference and Exhibition are being held in the same week in a joint initiative called "e-Health Week 2010". More than 2500 delegates are expected during this eHealth week, representing the majority of eHealth sector: ministers, members of the public administration, clinics, suppliers and managers of information and informatics systems. An interactive exhibition will gather more than 75 exhibitors and country pavilions. Check regularly the WoHIT website as updates are being made every week.
