The Biocomputing Unit (http://biocomp.cnb.csic.es) of the Spanish National Center for Biotechnology, CNB-CSIC, led by Dr. Carazo, is looking for young postdocs with an attractive publication record to address challenging topics in the field of image processing in Electron and Soft-X-ray microscopies. The lab has traditionally being very active in the development of advanced mathematical algorithms for single particle analysis, electron tomography, structural Bioinformatics and soft X-rays tomography. Our developments are publicly available under Xmipp (http://xmipp.cnb.csic.es) and Scipion (http://scipion.cnb.csic.es), providing access and support for image processing as the Instruct Image Processing Center (http://i2pc.cnb.csic.es). The institute has recently installed a Thalos Artica CryoEM microscope with a Falcon III camera, and counts with a very rich and enthusiastic Department of Structural Biology, with up to six groups working in cryo electron microscopy.

Postdocs with a background in engineering, signal/image processing, physics, mathematics or computational science are especially welcomed to apply.

Applicants will be hired under standard CSIC conditions, and they will also be encouraged -if applicable- to apply for specific National postdoc funding, like the Juan de la Cierva fellowships
