"Digital Poland of Equal Opportunities" (Cyfrowa Polska Równych Szans) campaign

In November 2010, the "Cities on the Internet" association together with the Information Society Development Foundation and the Polish Computer Training Foundation have launched a social campaign for the digital education of adult Poles. Research shows that close to 13 million adult Poles are lacking elementary skills to benefit from the content and services offered by the Internet, they also lack fundamental knowledge of the use of ICT in daily life and work. As a consequence of this deficiency – in the context of the knowledge based economy – Polish opportunities for growth and global competitiveness are impaired. The "Digital Poland of Equal Opportunities" campaign is aimed at mobilizing support towards design and implementation of nation-wide adult digital education programme.
