The post-doctoral position will take place within the framework of the « Investissements d'Avenir » program. Currently, desalination using membrane technology is the most accessible technique for providing fresh water to populations in coastal and inland areas. This research project, financed by ADEME, is focused on the development of autonomous desalination plants to produce freshwater in isolated areas using reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) from seawater and brackish waters. The selection and the quality of materials used is a key aspect to ensure an efficient and sustainable production of fresh water.
The post-doc will be in charge to design the controlled aging experiments on a test bench of RO and NF polymeric membranes and to evaluate the impact on their properties. The goal will be to determine a relationship between the physicochemical, structural and mechanical properties of the membranes studied according to the constraints and their functional properties (permeability, selectivity).

Información complementaria de la oferta:
The candidate must have a PhD in physical chemistry or physics of polymers and a background in mechanical characterization. Knowledge on membrane materials will be appreciated. The position is for one year, renewable once and will be available from 1 January 2017.
Gross salary: ~2500 €
