REQUIREMENTS

The Geomatics Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Senior Researcher position in its Geodesy and Navigation Department. The candidate should have experience in the area of image and data analysis applied to Geomatics, e.g. indoor and outdoor navigation, feature and information extraction, etc. The applicant is expected to be motivated and team player and to carry out innovative research. The candidate is expected to contribute to the main research areas of the two Departments of the Geomatics Division; in addition, the candidate could develop new research lines within the Geodesy and Navigation Department, which will be typically related to his/her previous research experience. The applicant is expected to have demonstrated experience in attracting funding.

The following specialization areas are of interest: feature extraction, segmentation and classification; point cloud processing; scene analysis; surface modelling and reconstruction; rapid mapping for environmental applications; image-based positioning algorithms.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants for this position must hold a Ph.D. degree in geomatics or related disciplines (engineering, physics, geophysics, mathematics, computer science, etc.) and must have a postdoc experience. Candidates without Ph.D. are admitted, provided that they have an equivalent research and development experience.

Applicants are expected to have track record and capacity of carrying out experimental work and interact with researchers as well as technology transfer staff. They are expected to be very motivated, work independently while, at the same time, cooperating with the Geomatics' team. Applicants are expected to have a demonstrated capability in attracting funds, including experience in writing research proposals, participating in national and international R&D projects and managing research projects. Advanced programming skills are considered an asset. Full professional proficiency in English is required. Spanish will be appreciated.
