PhD Scholarship position in:
BIOINFORMATICS FOR SPATIAL METABOLOMICS
The SIPOMICS (SIgnal Processing for Omic ScienceS) research Group from the Rovira i Virgili University is seeking PhD candidates to apply for one scholarship at our research facilities located in Tarragona.
PhD project: Development of micro/nano electronic surfaces for Laser Desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry (LDI‐MS). The Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation has founded this project recently. The objectives are the fabrication and characterization of different nanostructured materials (silicon, alumina, gold, metaloxides, etc.) suitable for the analysis of tissue and bio‐fluid metabolites by MALDI‐TOF
mass spectrometry and the creation of data processing and visualization algorithms.
Required profile: Candidates should have a background on computer science (very good programming skills), electronics, telecommunications or physics. Experience on
statistics or multivariate analysis will also be appreciated. Candidates need to have a Bachelor and a Master degree to be eligible for the PhD position. SIPOMICS is a multidisciplinary research Group formed by chemists, biochemists, physicists, computer and telecommunication engineers that has a very close relationship with a
metabolomics platform structure.
Application: Candidates should apply to Programa Martí Franqués:
