The School of Computing is one of the leading players in computing and IT, with extensive expertise in research and development and collaborative working relationships with multinational companies.
We are looking for an experienced Software Developer to work on the project ?Integrated Platform for Advanced Wireless Networking and Cloud Computing Research?. The post-holder will concentrate on integrating existing R&D facilities within the Centre of Audio-Visual Communications & Networks (AVCN), a part of the Institute of Creative Technologies and Applied Computing (ICTAC). The integration of the facilities is expected to facilitate collaborative research in these areas, and promote research-informed teaching, and knowledge transfer activities.
The successful candidate should possess degree in a Computing, Networking, Telecommunications or other related disciplines. Demonstrable experience in software development using C/C++ or other object-oriented languages, and wireless networking and cloud computing systems are essential, as is a comprehensive knowledge and experience of Linux operating system.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a diverse team, collaborating with colleagues and sharing expertise are also crucial.
